It's a perfect base-camp for exploring 3 national parks, 5 national monuments and 2 national forests as well as the numerous (beautiful) hiking trails right around the town. Wander around town at night, take in our neat little restaurants and galleries. Check the calendar 'cause Kanab knows how to do parades like you've never seen before. Imagine a Western Legends Parade led by a herd of long-horned steers? This is not just a place, it is a community.

Remember: this is the High Desert, do not underestimate it.
Bring sensible footwear, not just sandles. Bring clothes for layering because our evenings cool but day temps can rise into the 100's. Research your adventures or stay with Hosts who know the area well, or go with recommended guides.
Book in advance if you do decide to go with a guide.
Always plan on drinking lots of water, lots and lots of water every day.
There are city pools, the Jackson Flats Resevoir and Lake Powell so bring swim stuff as well!
