Finally, Seattle has big city transit. Well, at least from my place you can get anywhere! Airport, Stadiums, UW, Westlake (downtown shopping), Pioneer Square and more. $3.50 from the airport to my house every 6 minutes? Wow! A few beers at the Sounders game? No worries, $2 gets you home. I love it even if my property taxes have gone through the roof!

Just a short walk away is beautiful Volunteer Park. Climb the steps inside the water tower to access 360 views of Seattle, Bellevue, the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges, Lake Washington and the Puget Sound.

Go early in the morning for a silky smooth ride without turbulence (as a pilot, trust me on this one). Also a great way to get to Victoria BC in about 30 minutes. Bring your passport.

Great views of Seattle on the drive over the West Seattle bridge and along Alki Avenue. Great during summer with outdoor bon fires, volleyball, skating and beach combing. Lots of little chic eateries too. All have a great view of Puget Sound and passing ferries heading to and from the islands.

A very northwest beach. Lots of clam bakes, sailboats and shells and a fantastic view of the San Juan islands. Fun gathering spot or a family picnic. Nice hiking trails straight up the wooded cliffs. Ray's Boat House is awesome for seafood and happy hour. Boat rental opportunity too.

Nice hiking trails straight up the wooded cliffs. Ray's Boat House is awesome for seafood and happy hour. Boat rental opportunity too.
A peninsula park jutting into Lake Washington. Lots of walking, biking and hiking trails and places to have a family bbq on the beach. Views of Mt Rainer from the south side can be stunning if the weather is clear. The drive along Lake Washington Blvd is wonderful too.

5900 Lake Washington Blvd SA peninsula park jutting into Lake Washington. Lots of walking, biking and hiking trails and places to have a family bbq on the beach. Views of Mt Rainer from the south side can be stunning if the weather is clear. The drive along Lake Washington Blvd is wonderful too.
