A great little gem - for the best ice cream and cocktails in town. A cosy cafe in one of the towns more interestings streets - Skostredet.
Two favourite ice creams are 1. The salt caramel, and 2. Skillingsbolle ( an iconic local cinnamon bun)
They also serve a dish of the day - fusion inspired street food from around the world.
Its a flavour heaven!

A good vegitarian option - which there are not many of in town.
Their homemade falafels are only kr 40 - you get to add your own salad from a great DIY bar. And their creamy home made hummus tops it off perfectly.
Don´t be put off by the look ( or name) - its a great pit stop for lunch and is open late. Especially as it is close to the tourist area - just behind the fish market.

Its a popular place for buying cheap wool tights, socks and under garments & wellington boots.

It is possible to walk up for free - and takes no more than 30 minutes. Most locals take the tram up, and walk down the mountain.
On sunny days people grill and have picnics. They have well organised grill spots, picnic areas for you to use, as well as a cafe & shop at the top station.
For families - the towns best 2 playground are here.

There are many buses that go past from the fish market - that is the cheapest way to get there - unless you cycle.
There is a cycle path all the way there - without any steep hills :-)
