A good steak...the way a steakhouse should make a steak. No frills - just the basics. A big baked potato, salad, rolls and butter all for around $20. A local favorite.

A large version of the corner tavern brought to modern day. Great food at a great price; wide range of beers to choose from and several sports screens to root for you favorite team. Burgers, sandwiches, homemade potato chips, soups, salads and some traditional Irish fare (rarebit, stew, etc). One of my favorite spots for a sandwich and beer. The bartenders and wait staff are very friendly; Llywelyn's is locally owned; there are about five in St. Louis now. Everylocation has a friendly, congenial atmosphere - the kind of place where you feel like one of the family.

Delicious cajun inspired food and classic but classy bar scene; a favorite spot for the 30+ crowd and favorite among the locals. Try the Brussel Sprouts - so good they are an appetizer! Always good conversation and comradery at Molly's. Free shuttle to Blues Hockey and Cardinals Baseball games. Restaurant closed on Mondays but bar opens at 3:00 p.m. Epic Halloween party! Large patio and garden welcomes pets. Must be on a leash.

In the very heart of historic Soulard. It's quaint and laid back offering of coffee, breakfast food and pastries. WiFi available. In the summer, the coffee garden is a great spot to settle in for a bit of telecommuting. Locally owned and across the street for the birthplace of my grandmother!

A great place for taking in some good ol' blues and jazz; usually two bands each night of the week. oted Best Blue Club for the last three years in a row. IN an old french building that has been many things over the years: a home, boarding house, reception hall, merchantile, millinery, transient hotel, bar, diner, and a House of ill repute. Cajun inspired bar food menu; most people go to hear great bands in this iconic location. Check their website for the music schedule: http://bbsjazzbluessoups.com/index.html
