Great artisan brunches with tasty wholesome dishes. Walking distance. Not on the doorstep, but not far. This place would fit into hipster Hackney in a heartbeat (don't let that put you off)

From Full English to Jacket Potatoes; wait for your number to be called and sit and have a look at the prison and the colourful characters that inhabit it. Or read lots of the newspapers scattered around the plentiful tables.

These lovely people serve the best Jumbo Jacket potatoes in town. They also serve a multitude of sandwiches, salads, breakfasts as well as fresh juices and a builders tea. Customers range from road workers to the Underground staff, to students, to locals, to passing policemen. Be sure to grab a seat and enjoy fine food at a really reasonable price made by lovely and friendly staff. Take Away as well.

Amazing 70s Decor. Very secret though. Check out their website as it's a members only bar - but membership is quite simple to attain. Amazing cocktails and open late.

This is definitely an acquired taste. VERY old school. VERY no frills. Hundreds of TV screens showing horse racing, Irish Football, Football. But, if you like a stripped back place with no ego and spit and sawdust; this is your place.
