Ferries are convenient and inexpensive at $2.75 per ride. There are 2 directions, one will take you South (Downtown and South Brooklyn) and the other North (Uptown and North Brooklyn/Queens). This ferry only crosses the East River so all stops in Manhattan would be on the east side of Manhattan.
