The portions are generous and include salad, bread, and a scoop of ice cream for an affordable price (~$13-15)! During the summer and holiday seasons, the restaurant is very busy and you may have a long wait. We recommend the lasagna!

This is one of the hippest joints in town, serving adventurous and delicious items. The portions can be on the small side and the prices on the higher side, but everything is delicious.

This restaurant is a great steak and seafood joint. The items can be on the pricy side, but everything is delicious—especially the au gratin potatoes and the mushroom brie sandwich for lunch. If the weather is nice, the roof patio is the best place to sit. They do offer a happy hour from 4-6, with specials on a few appetizers and beverages. They sometimes have live music on the weekends!

And they definitely serve more than beef, including lamb, chicken, and several incredible veggie burger options! This restaurant always has amazing beer rotating on tap. The Grind has a great happy hour every day from 4 to 6 p.m. offering a snack and a beer for $8. (This is our favorite!) They also do trivia night on Tuesdays.

Check out Doc Holliday’s grave in the historic cemetery. The trailhead is at Bennett (two streets down towards downtown) and 12th Street. The hike to the grave is short (.7 miles roundtrip), but you can keep left of the cemetery and hike up the mountain to meet up with the scout trail.

This incredible trail starts a few blocks from the house—turn right on 8th and take a left where 8th Street ends (You’ll see a sign for the boy scout trail)! It’s a steep hike up the mountain ~1800ft elevation gain), but when you get to the top, you can turn left to go onto Forest Hallow Train out onto the rim of the incredible Glenwood Springs Canyon. The rim is flat for the next 6ish miles. Or, you can turn right and head toward the Doc Holliday Trail. The entire Scout/Doc loop is about 6.25 miles from the house.
