Jonkershoek Nature Reserve
A beautiful valley at the end of a very scenic drive. The drive itself is worth it. Close to town, but you feel like you are miles away, surrounded by majestic mountains. One of the best and safest places to hike or cycle.
Incredible hiking and mountain biking routes in this very popular park. 10 minute drive form central Stellenbosch, but you could also rent mountain bikes and cycle to the park from central town, as the Jonkershoek road leading to the park is also a beautiful route.
Our favourite place for a beautiful hike in the Jonkershoek mountains. Sossyskloof is one of our best hikes in the reserve. And Saaltjie is a more strenuous hike but amazing views. Also great for mountain biking
Beautiful nature reserve with walking routes though the fynbos leading up to waterfalls where one can swim. Entrance fee is around R40 pp. Drive through the entrance gate and park at the sign for "First Waterfall" and walk from there.
“I love going here when. I'm in the mood for a juicy steak or sometimes just for a cocktail on the stoep. They have a lovely garden at the back which is perfect for summer.”
“My absolute favourite restaurant, from the charming setting in a pretty square in central Stellies, to the lovely hosts and friendly staff and of course, the mouth watering authentic Japanese food.”
“This pleasant mall in the center of town is where you will find food stores, pharmacies, clothing stores, the gymnasium (with a pool), movie theatres and much more. It has dedicated parking, which makes coming and going very easy.”
“Upmarket Wine & Champagne bar, very charming, perfect for a pre-dinner drink. Limited food, but they have good snack platters - try the local "biltong" meat platter.”
