Point of Interest
“The Tom Ridge Environmental Center (TREC) is an educational center dedicated to teaching visitors about the unique 3,200 acres of Presque Isle and the many different forms of life that inhabit the peninsula. While some facilities along the Great Lakes offer environmental education and others do research, none offer research, education, and visitor services in one place, making TREC a unique destination for learning, wonder, and fun. TREC is open year-round and offers free admission to its interactive exhibits, glass-enclosed tower, and orientation movie.”
“Splash Lagoon Indoor Waterpark Resort is a Polynesian-themed large indoor waterpark located just a couple miles down the road. The park is approximately 80,000 square feet. It features seven water slides, two hot tubs, one large activity pool, and a children's area.”
“A lovely city with great walking trails and the perfect place for a picnic on the grass, or to cool your toes in Cascade Creek. There is an amphitheater with events during the summer. The Erie Blues & Jazz Fest is held here the first weekend in August. There are nice free tennis courts on the Sixth Street side, lighted at night. ”
“Great spot open at 8 a.m. for coffee, breakfast, and lunch. Outdoor tables in summer. Relaxing scene. ”
