Museum Gipsoteca Antonio Canova
One of my favourites places, filled with all the most famous statues of one of the greatest sculptors of all times.
Do not miss visiting this amazing Museum dedicated to a true genius of sculpture.
See the sculptures of Canova in his hometown in the museum the famous local architect Carlo Scarpa designed. 10min drive.
“Huge 1700 villa, great interiors. biggest antiques market in italy on every last sunday of the month. ”
“Fascinating ancient abbey close to Castel Brando, just to purify your soul guys!”
“The Brion Cemetery is in San Vito d'Altivole near Treviso, Italy. Architect Carlo Scarpa (1906-1978) began designing the addition to an existing municipal cemetery in 1968. Although he continued to consider changes to the project, it was completed before his accidental death in 1978. The enclosure is a private burial ground for the Brion family.”
“A masterpiece of architecture by Andrea Palladio and decorated with frescoes by Paolo Veronese, and sculptural art by Allesandro Vittoria. One of the best examples of Venetian Villas.”
“Beautiful Caves!!! Nice way to spend a few hours getting fresh air and step back from reality. It doesn't take much time to walk through but it is certainly worth the trip. The wood does get a bit slippery, just take your time. There is also a restaurant at the end.”
