Old Timers Museum
Visit Old Timers Museum in Murphys; preceding the Murphy brothers, Murphys was a peaceful trading post for hundreds of years for the many Miwok Tribes of California. You will see amazing pine needle basketry and gold mining artifacts, plus much more.
Great local history museum. Gold rush history of the Queen of the Sierra. Guided walking tours of the town’s many historic buildings are conducted every Saturday at 10:00 a.m., starting in front of the Old Timers Museum on Main Street.
Open Friday - Sunday with a historic town walk at 10am on Saturday. See and hear what life was about back then.
Stop in, even for a few minutes, just to look at the old photos and get a flavor for old-time Murphys and what life was like in the 1850's
