“The Malahat Drive is a mountain highway between Victoria west and Mill Bay. It offers spectacular views of Finlayson Arm, Saanich Inlet, Patricia Bay, Saanich Peninsula and the greater region. There are two lookouts on the east side of the Malahat drive going north. Each offers unique views. A 20-minute drive to the south from the B&B.”
“The Renfrew Pub just is a couple of minutes down the road from The Great Escape. Their food is awesome, as is the atmosphere and the staff. They have THE BEST crispy chicken burger EVER! There is a pool table, and you can watch your favourite sport on anyone of 6 TV's whilst you enjoy. They have power when we lose it, and free WiFi (password portrenfrew). It is also 'Kids Friendly'. Great local place!”
“Located in Sooke, it is a bit of a drive, but the products are top notch. This company produces an award-winning line of culinary sea salt and mineral bath soaks, all hand crafted locally. You can also find their products in the spice aisle at Market on Millstream and the Royal Bay Bakery.”
“Uniquely beautiful tide pools at low tide. Even if you stop at a beach enroute (and never go as far as this spot) you will see wonderful views of the Olympic Mountains and beautiful beaches, some are great surf spots.”
