“ The Hali’imaile General Store is located in what was once a general store for pineapple plantation workers during the 1920s. Today, it is home to one of the coziest restaurants in Maui, offering fresh American food with “Asian undertones.” The owner and chef, Bev Gannon, has used local ingredients to make the Hali’imaile General Store one of the top restaurants on Maui. Be sure to try the Sashimi Napoleon. This dish features layers of Ahi tartare, smoked salmon, sashimi ahi, crispy wonton stack and wasabi vinaigrette-to-die-for! Bev’s Chopped Chinese Chicken Salad and Coconut Fish Curry is another winner. Finish the meal with Lilikoi Brulee and Almond Brittle. If you find yourself upcountry or on the other side of the island, the Hali’imaile General Store is the perfect spot to stop for lunch or dinner. The Hali’imaile General Store is open for lunch, Monday – Friday, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, and, for dinner from 5:30 to 9:00 pm.”
