Telemarkskanalen Kviteseid is a part of the world famous Telemarkskanalen that has been described as the worlds 8th wonder. It was finished in 1892 after 500 men spent 5 years digging and blasting their way throught the montain and stone from Skien to Dalen. It is 105 km long and have 18 “sluser” that elevates the boats 72 meters throught some of the most beautiful scenery Norway has to offer. The 2 boats “Henrik Ibsen” and “Victoria” sails from Skien - Dalen or Dalen to Skien every day during the sommer.

The Telemark Canal - one of the most beautiful waterways in the world. The Telemark Canal was carved into the rock over 100 years ago. When the canal was completed in 1892, it was called the "eighth wonder". The canal connects the coast of Telemark with the interior through eight locks at a distance of 105 km from Skien to Dalen. It consists of two waterways; Skien- Dalen and Skien-Notodden. Therefore, it is now possible to experience the Telemark Canal by ferry, charter boats, your own boat, canoes and kayaks.

Hjellebrygga er hjem for kanalbåtene som går i rute opp og ned Telemarkskanalen. Dette er startstedet for kanalen og du kan hele sommerhalvåret kjøpe billett for å bli med M/S Victoria, M/S Henrik Ibsen eller en av de andre kanalbåtene opp i slusene
