15 minutes walk from our flat ... well worth the effort after the many winding steps from Saint Paul! The view of Lyon is breathtaking. If you're lucky with the clear weather you'll also get an eyeful of the French Alps and Le Mont Blanc !

Walking up to the Fourvière cathedral is a must-do. The interiors of the cathedral themselves are also unique. The view from the top is fantastic. The funicular railway brings you there from Vieux-Lyon metro station, but I personnally prefer walking up throught the park. Early in the morning, the sunrise can be beautiful!

The Basilic is one of the most famous things to see in Lyon ! Maybe you can go up with the "funicular" and go down by feet. If you do that you can take a classic TCL ticket (1.80 euros alone and 1.60 euros if you buy a 10 tickets pass) but if you go up and go down with the funicular, take a funicular ticket that is good for go and return ! Un des endroits les plus célèbres de Lyon. Je vous conseille de monter avec le funiculaire et de redescendre à pieds. si vous faites ça prenez un ticket TCL classique (1.80 euros vendu seul et 1.60 euros vendu en carnet de 10) si vous montez et descendez avec le funiculaire alors prenez un ticket funiculaire valable pour l'aller retour !
