Out of all the Vietnamese restaurants on Kingsland road, this one is the best.
Sitting on the Hoxton/Shoreditch border, this much-loved friendly Vietnamese restaurant has long been heralded as one of the best places around for pho, the delicious restorative noodle soup; choose between a drool-worthy 24 varieties or other traditional dishes, all well-priced and authentic.
Kingsland Road’s infamous Vietnamese restaurants make it hard to choose a favourite (there are so many it starts to feel like Hanoi!) but Song Que just pips the others to the post. It’s big, bustling, delicious and low-priced – and the pho is supposedly the best in London.
“Excellent organic food shop on the Kingsland Road where you can stock up on a better and wider range of supplies than you might find in a Sainsburys or a Tesco (chain super/mini-markets).”
“Bustley little corner cafe with great coffee and lots of good light breakfast options.”
“Really cosy little cinema to relax with a nice glass of wine while watching independent films. Community arts hub staging music, dance and spoken word performance, art shows and film screenings.”
“Bustling traditional venue with a small outside terrace, pub games and an upstairs dining room.”
“Authentic Chinese food served by authentically grump waiters. If you like tripe, tendons, pigs ears, huge portions and lots of chillies, this the place for you. They will deliver free to Star of the East if you're feeling really lazy. We have a takeaway menu.”
