For a night out dancing. This spot stays open until 3am but entry ends at 2am! They have different themes each night.
Dance your face off at Barb's. If there's a long line, go into Swan Dive instead and go in through the back.
“Bar located on the historic Red River St, this bar offers live music most nights and sometimes karaoke. Beautiful patio with lights and surrounded by an old stone wall that makes you feel you are in your own private space made just for you. This bar is very LGBT friendly but caters to all.”
“Great live bands in a large venue with lots of floor space. If you like live music, check it out!”
“If you enjoy Latin music and you happen to be in town on a Sunday, hit this place for their weekly "La Cruda" event from 7p-10p. Great ambience filled with cumbias salsa merengue regadon and Mexican Regional banda/guapangos... Not to mention there is a guy cooking for everyone to make themselves free tacos!!! ”
“Dive bar with a giant jackalope sculpture & other quirks, plus burgers, pizza, music & happy hours.”
“Oilcans is Austin's oldest gay bar/club, having celebrated its 20th anniversary not too long ago, and is also located on W. 4th St. adjacent to downtown's other main gay-bar destinations, notably Rain and Sellers Underground. All three are notably lively on weekends, and if you arrive after midnight you might have to wait in line to get in - not because they're being pretentious, but because they're literally at capacity! This being a college town, the crowd at all three skews young, but all ages (and genders) are welcome. Most nights don't have a cover charge, but there might be a nominal one if a special event is going on.”
