Barton Creek Greenbelt Trail
One of my favorite trails in Austin. Hike, run, bike, swim, rock climb, skip, or hop along this trail. I like to come early in the morning when there's less people and it's so tranquil and serene. Barton Creek flows som 40 miles through Texas Hill Country before joining the Colorado River.
Very popular place to go hiking - You can google guides to find the access point that best fits what you want to do!
Lots of entry points on this long urban greenbelt. Ask us and we can recommend a good spot. If we have had rain the swimming in very nice. Sunday mornings are the best times for families.
Beautiful trail in the heart of South Austin, get your waterfall fix hiking to Twin Falls and Sculpture Falls.
“This natural, spring-fed pool is open yea-round and is an iconic Austin spot. There's a $9 entrance fee for non-residents, though check the website for open swim times. ”
Outdoor Event Space
“Zilker Park is where ACL happens, where a great Zilker Christmas Light Show is, where the Stevie Ray Vaughn bronze is. Close enough to Casa Willow and Holly Neighborhood. Google what is happening at Zilker when you come.”
“Great place to see a movie. They tend to have good indie films here too and fun retro movie nights. The food is good there too. Buffalo cauliflower and Royale with Cheese are my favorites, though if I could have dessert for dinner, the soft, warm chocolate chip cookies with ice cream is amazing. ”
“This is a total splurge and hands-down the best sushi in town. 15-minute walk. When we go, we show up right when it opens for happy hour, which has more affordable options. Check this place out online. ”
