An historic inn where the notorious Hawkhurst gang of smugglers used to meet in the 18th century. The inn was rebuilt in 1420 after the fire in Rye of 1377 when the French burnt the town.

Historic and very charismatic hotel, friendly and helpful staff, great food, breakfast and dinner, the huge old fireplace is one of many features recommended.
