This is actually a reservoir. However, the area around it is really nice. You can go for a walk or a run and you can ride around the lake by bike. A couple of restaurants and nice places can be found along the way aswell.
Für einen sonnigen Nachmittag ein perfekter Ort für einen Spaziergang, während man den Sportlern auf dem See zuschauen kann.
“The Museum Folkwang is an art museum in Essen. It was opened in 1902 in Hagen by Karl Ernst Osthaus under the name Folkwang. The Museum had for a long time a pioneering role in the field of modern art. After the death of Osthaus in 1921, his collection was sold to Essen. Since then, the museum has continued there. The collection contains works of impressionism, expressionism, surrealism and other styles of modern art. In addition, the Museum Folkwang has objects of the arts and crafts, a graphic and a photographic collection.”
“The Zeche Zollverein - also called "Eiffel Tower of the Ruhr Area" - is Essen's landmark and was an active coal mine from 1851 to 1986 in Essen. It is today an architectural and industrial monument, which offers guided tours, museums, art exhibitions, concerts, gastronomy and in the winter season ice skating pleasure for the whole family. The coking plant Zollverein and the mines 12 and 1/2/8 are UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2001.”
