Upon entering Il Buco, you won't be surprised to learn that it was originally opened in 1994 as a rustic antique store. Located on NoHo's cobblestoned Bond Street, the cozy, tastefully cluttered restaurant evokes Tuscany with its worn, wooden chairs and copper pots hanging from the ceiling. The cuisine is Italian-Mediterranean, the seasonally inspired menu changes frequently, and the thoughtful wine list highlights small boutique producers. Wine lovers, rejoice: Il Buco's cellar can be reserved for private parties, and it's one of the loveliest hidden rooms in town.
Iconic Italian spot, known for making guest appearances in shows like Masters of None.
IL BUCO IS A NYC GEM. I LOVE GOING ON THE EARLY SIDE TO SIT AT BAR FOR A COCKTAIL AND A LIGHT MEAL. ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE SPOTS.
“Kee's doesn't get renewed hype to keep her in people's minds but she deserves the praise she's gotten. I like the Thompson. I haven't tried the creme brulee but the nice young man behind the counter compared it to Chinese egg tarts. I've only been twice but the walk from my duplex to her store is a breeze and Dominique Ansel's store is nearby.”
“If you like to have an authentic Italian coffee made with Illi caffe this is the place. Great cappuccino and fresh homemade croissant. ”
“Great seafood and oysters. Small place with specials on Tuesday's before 6 on oysters. ”
