Another highly regarded winery is just up the road with a cellar door for those keen to taste or buy some fine local wine. The winery is family-owned and produces premium cool climate wines.

Purple Hen Winery is located on a small peninsula on Phillip Island, overlooking the Bay of Western Port with beautiful views of Swan Inlet, Churchill Island and Denne Bight. A family-owned and operated winery producing premium cool climate wines on a beautiful part of Phillip Island. The vineyard is currently 11 hectares and has established an enviable record for producing elegant and strongly varietal wines – winning over 150 Medals and 20 Trophies at wine shows in Australia. Phillip Island is best known for its tourist attractions such as penguins, seals, and koalas. We hope it will become increasingly recognised for possessing one of the best climates in Australia for the growing of quality wines. Also dog friendly.

A beautiful place anytime of year to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and share a grazing platter with friends. Spend a relaxing afternoon outside overlooking the vines and water, or if the weather turns cold grab a spot in front of the fire. Or if wine tasting is more you - visit the cellar door.
