Closest waterfall to us that is in Shenandoah National Park (23 minutes drive). 1.2 miles to the top of the falls; .3 mile further to a great overlook view. Pretty hardy walk UP to return to your car. Rated as a moderate hike, 90-120 minutes roundtrip. Not great for little kids or older folks.

This is such a cool hike. You can get there from the cabin or from Skyline drive in the park.

This nearby hike is a circuit that takes you to the base of a 83’ waterfall. A great hike for wildflower and bird enthusiasts, alike! This hike has one stream crossing. This 3.3-mile circuit hike is rated Moderate on the Shenandoah's Hiking Difficulty scale.

Hiking South River Falls and Pocosin Mission — The circuit is 8.5 miles; total climb is about 1830 feet; time required is approximately 7 hours, 30 minutes. It’s a long hike which includes ruins, a cemetery and the falls. The hiking route is easy to reach via a 1 1/4 mile hike from the South River Picnic Area just north of the Rt. 33, at milepost 62.8 on the Skyline Drive There is a $15.00 per car fee to enter the Shenandoah National Park. During the winter months the fee is $10.00 per car. You can get a 6-day pass if you plan on returning to the hiking area more than once in a week. Stop by the Greene County Visitor Center for a hiking brochure which includes a hiking map and details of the trail. The Visitor Center is located at 8315 Seminole Trail (Rte 29 South) in Ruckersville (next to the Blue Ridge Cafe).
