www.acmeoyster.com (12 minutes/8.6 miles). The original Acme Cafe (now Oyster House) opened in the New Orleans French Quarter in 1910 and opened in Gulf Shores in 2013. Raw and chargrilled oysters, gumbo, étouffée, red beans & rice, jambalaya, crawfish, seafood platters, Po-boys, wings, hamburger…
My favorite for Seafood. The grilled oysters are amazing! Located on the canal with inside and outside tables. There's a beach for the kids. Lulu's is directly across the river. That's a fun touristy place but the food at ACME is far superior.
Great for kids (have outdoor, fenced-in sand play area for them for them to play while parents can sit outside at their table).
“If you are looking for a great meal without a lot of the extra stuff this place is great. Try the swamp soup it sounds ruff but tastes great.”
“Icon! Survived Fredrick, Ivan and many others! Still on the beach in Gulf Shores.”
“Very kid friendly place to eat. Waterfront dining. Jimmy Buffet's sister, LuLu, has created a place you have to visit.”
“www.gulfshoressteamer.com (2 minutes/1.4 miles East) Many of my guests love it. While the name suggests it’s in Gulf Shores, it’s really in Orange Beach. Located in front of SanRoc Cay Shopping and Marina Complex, near Louisiana Lagniappe Restaurant.”
