Come with me in my VW up! to the Adelaide Hills Wineries.
I’ll pick you up in the Adelaide CBD, from where the picturesque Adelaide Hills wine region is only a 20 minute drive east of the city.
There are over 50 cellar doors in the region, from larger, well established wineries to small artisanal wineries.
Depending on which day you book (some wineries don’t open every day) we will visit 3 or 4 of these top rating cellar doors: Ashton Hills Vineyard, Bird in Hand* (currently closed - undergoing major renovations), Hahndorf Hill Winery, Murdoch Hill, Petaluma, Shaw & Smith, Sidewood Estate*, Tapanappa, The Lane Vineyard*.
We have a few lunch options: you could bring a picnic (I’ll bring the rug!), or, if you’re happy to spend a little extra, you could try out the platters which are available at most of the cellar doors (best option, to keep wine tasting!). Some of the wineries (marked*) also have restaurants – I can book for lunch if you let me know well enough in advance. ... And don't forget the acclaimed 'ChocoVino' tasting!
Other things to note
Some wineries charge tasting fees for their ‘wine flights’. Most wineries have light meals or platters available for purchase, and some have restaurants at their cellar doors.

NOTE! The Government of South Australia requires all defined public activities to have a COVID-Safe Plan in place. My business UP TO THE HILLS has complied with this requirement, and my COVID-Safe Plan will be available for my guests to view on the booked Tour day.
Cheers, wine lovers!
I had my initiation into wine tasting in my teens, thanks to my parents taking my brother and me on their wine tasting expeditions to the wine regions around Adelaide.
I would like to share the same experience with you by taking you on a tour of some of the best wineries in the picturesque Adelaide Hills region.
I hope that your experience will feel like a convivial day trip with friends, with the added pleasure of tasting some wonderful wines - including the possibility of a chocolate and wine matching experience - and maybe some fantastic food as well.

South Australia is known as Australia's wine capital and is responsible for almost 50% of Australia’s annual wine production.
The picturesque Adelaide Hills wine region is east of the Adelaide plains, and stretches approximately 70kms along the Mount Lofty Ranges. The region provides a wide range of mesoclimates and produces a variety of wine styles. We’ll visit some of the region’s best cellar doors within a 40km drive east of the city.

We had a wonderful day with Amanda and she chose three great wineries for our tastings. There was great conversation and the lunch at the Bird in Hand was sublime. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tour.
Thanks Amanda! We’d be back again, no doubt, if we didn’t live quite so far away 😕

Amanda was an excellent guide and a friendly host. The Adelaide Hills are very attractive and scenic, and well worth spending a day in. When wine tastings and gourmet food are added, a tour of the hills becomes one of the best things one can do in Adelaide. I heartily recommend Amanda's small group tour.

Amanda was the perfect host for our day in the Adelaide Hills. She tailored the day to our personal taste for reds and recommended a lovely lunch spot - not an easy feat when you realise there are over 50 cellar doors to choose from! If, like us, you don't have your own transport or you just want to sit back and enjoy the wines and scenery, Amanda's tour is the perfect way to go. At the three wineries we visited, Tapanappa, Murdoch Hill and Bird in Hand, she had a great rapport with the staff and a good knowledge of their wines. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending her services to family and friends. Thanks Amanda for a great day. Lynne & Mum

We had an enjoyable day with Amanda in the Adelaide Hills wineries area. Being deaf we needed to bring our interpreter along too and Amanda was enthusiastic and friendly.
We just felt she needs a bit more wine and local knowledge...but she was always happy to accomodate any requests we had...
