Just as Naples is the capital of Italy’s thick-rimmed wood-fired pizza pies, Bari and its surrounding Pugliese towns are home to a beloved regional flatbread called focaccia. I'm sure that you must have tried the regular focaccia, that you'll usually get served in an Italian restaurant, but what I offer you to learn cooking with me, is an original Pugliese recipe for the focaccia, that you will see it is a lot different and tastier than any focaccia you have ever tried.
The Focaccia is drenched in a special Pugliese olive oil before the soft dough is stretched into place, so when it all goes into the oven, the dough practically fries in the pan as it bakes, rendering the bottom and sides crispy and pleasantly oily, while the inside is nicely soft.
During the experience, we will make two focaccia. One I will firstly prepare and explain to you all the details, and then you will make the second one by yourself with my guidance. Even if you have never cooked before, I will guide you through the process and at the end, you will surely be able to make the "Focaccia Pugliese" by yourself and bring this tasty pastry to your friends and family back home.
