Historic Loblolly Lodge at Ratcliff Lake

The Loblolly Lodge was built by Frank Taylor as a gathering place for his family around 1940. Remodeled in 2018, it now boasts of all the modern conveniences for a great getaway. With 2400sf of indoor living space & a 640sf covered back porch there is plenty of space for several families. The Lodge is nestled on 11 private wooded acres adjacent to Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area in the Davy Crockett National Forest which offers fishing, swimming, picnicking, and hiking for a small entrance fee.

Welcome to your home away from home! 🌲 This beautiful, recently built duplex is on Moore Ave, only 3 blocks from CHI St. Luke’s Hospital and about 1/2 a mile from downtown Lufkin. The home is open concept and features two cozy bedrooms, small stylish kitchen and modern bathroom, perfect for traveling nurses, hospital visitors, a small family, couples or solo travelers. Nestled in the heart of Lufkin, you'll enjoy easy access to local downtown attractions, dining and outdoor activities.

Staying here is like a visiting your Mamaw's house. It's simple, old fashioned decor is family friendly. The big front porch is a perfect place to sit with your coffee and watch the birds and butterflies, which are plentiful. Located adjacent to the Davy Crockett National Forest, we also have many deer and other critters in the woods behind the house. There are no visible neighbors, access is by a dirt road. Star gazing here is amazing! It's also only 30 minutes to either Crockett or Lufkin.

Exceptionally clean and has every thing you need for a short weekend or an extended stay. Eff has full size kitchen and washer and dryer. It has two seating areas outside, one is covered and one under the stars and ambience lights around firepit. There is two grills provided, one gas and one charcoal to suit you. 20 acres of relaxation in the piney woods of East Texas. Easily accessible from all directions. This is not a place to exert a lot of energy unless you'd like to visit my firewood splitting department. (I may knock a few dollars off the price if you do!) Owners house is next door, Grill, smoker, fire pit, and additional outdoor shower. Pond is stocked with perch. Beautiful walking trails. Golf cart is onsite but availability may be limited. Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. This is a 1950’s home that has been completely renovated. 3 bedrooms and 1 bath. This was my best friend’s childhood home and we bought it after her Mom died. The house sits on a little over an acre of land, a big beautiful oak tree provides lots of shade in the front.
