This is the actual caboose from the Harrison Ford train wreck in The Fugitive. P&WV #839 rode the rails, starred in a blockbuster, and now you can sleep in it. Downtown Bryson City is less than a 10-minute walk: restaurants, breweries, and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. Four twin bunks, a full bathroom, a kitchenette, and a private deck. Park when you arrive and walk to everything. During the holidays you're steps from the Polar Express. On a lucky night, you'll hear rain on the metal roof.

Pullman Train Car at Rassawek

Our Pullman Car is one of 3 converted train cars available for rentals. The car was built by Pullman Co. in 1888. Guests staying in this car have access to the shared amenities of Rassawek Station including the patio “Flat Car” and our Lodge Cabin. Guests can also use the ponds on the property as well as the 5+ miles of private country roads for hiking, running and biking. The converted car has a living area, full kitchen, a bedroom with two double beds, a full bath with shower and a half bath.

Guests staying in the Boxcar have access to the shared amenities of Rassawek Station including the patio “Flat Car” and our Lodge Cabin. The boxcar living area has a sofa and coffee table and small area with table, two chairs and a mini fridge/freezer with a Keurig. The bedroom has a queen bed and dresser and there is a full bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.

Come spend some time in a real, completely refurbished railroad caboose (with all the modern amenities) just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Orchard Gap, approximate mile 193.5. Probably the most unique lodging along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We now have disc golf baskets and discs as well as cornhole sets. Pet owners please read the pet policy under additional rules. We DO NOT have any cleaning fees, never have. The service fees are not ours.
