This lovingly restored cottage, built in 1878, is nestled on the Coetzee family’s 4th generation working ostrich farm in the small Karoo valley of Kandelaarsrivier. Huis Kandelabra is just outside Oudtshoorn on the main route to Mossel Bay. The surroundings of Karoo koppies, the Kandelaars River, neighbouring farmlands, ostrich camps and views of the Swartberg and Outeniqua Mountain Ranges all add to this stylish, yet quaint cottage’s unmistakable charm.

We are a simple, off the grid set up so do not expect luxury but rather the simple pleasures and nature in all its glory. Our property is a work in progress. Our dream is to create a sustainable space by restoring our land and respecting nature in the process.

The Cozy Cottage - home away from home. Nestled in the heart of Great Brak's older suburbs, it offers tranquility and privacy. You can enjoy peaceful surroundings while still being just moments away from local attractions. Come and enjoy Garden Route hospitality in this quaint little village. PS: we do not have a sea view. The river is about 300m from the cottage. The beach is located 1.6km from the cottage.
