Our home design strives to create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Shady Pines features a fully equipped kitchen, a large leather sectional in the living room, laundry facilities, and electric fireplaces in both the living room and master bedroom. The king and queen beds are Sealy Posturepedic, the daybed is Nectar, and the trundle is BeautyRest, for your sleeping comfort. Our decor is minimalist-inspired and has the essentials for your home-away-from-home stay.

Newly renovated home in the heart of historic South Fork. 3 bedrooms (one is captured, but private) Large eat in kitchen with new black stainless appliances and a nice view of the town and railroad (RR enthusiasts take note). At the top of the world with the world’s steepest vehicular inclined plane, playground, baseball field, tennis courts and a great restaurant/bar all within a couple blocks. Stores and entertainment are just a short drive away. Nestled against Stackhouse Park are hiking trails and a nice picnic area and creek to give the lil' ones some play time in the outdoors. 1st Summit Arena which hosts concerts, conventions and sporting events is a 6 minute drive away.

For the avid bikers and hikers, the Ghost Town Trail is right down the road. Hunters welcome! We are adjacent to 8,000+ acres of State Game Lands. Also, we are within~ 30 miles from Indiana, Johnstown, & Altoona. Come enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery!

ZigZag Acres

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful retreat featuring a private pond and no neighbors. ADA friendly house on 30 acres surrounded by 630 acres of protected state game hunting lands. Main house recently completed full renovation. Landscaping and grounds maintenance still in progress but will not affect your stay. There is a 1 mile hiking trail loop on the property. Leave your worries behind and get lost in nature.

Comfort and Convenience

We have extensively remodeled this special home and brought it forward from the 1960s while maintaining its character, including the original wrought iron railing and open vaulted living room. We've also incorporated some elements of Altoona's history into the home. It's the perfect cozy and welcoming space to rest and relax whether traveling for work, visiting family, or exploring the beautiful surrounding area.
