The River House

Come escape the pressures of everyday life at this cozy relaxing cottage along the Susquehanna river. Windows galore which allow the beauty of the river to be enjoyed from the entire house. Open floor concept with two bedrooms on an upper landing, and a large bathroom. Exposed beams, hardwood floors, granite/butcher block countertops, walk-in shower, claw foot tub, I could keep going. Enjoy the wonderful wildlife which include bald eagles, osprey, beavers, ducks and many more. If you’re hungry, you can order delicious pizza from a real Sicilian in town or fine dine at the Accomac Inn which is just a 5 minute walk down river. Perfect road for a walk, run, or bike ride. This place is truly a relaxing home away from the everyday hustle. Please come enjoy. Close to major highways and sits between Lancaster and York (20 minute drives).

Off the beaten path but close to it all, including historic Gettysburg, the Appalachian Trail, Caledonia State Park, and Michaux State Forest. Relax on a large screened-in porch, in the shade of our pines or on the banks of a mountain creek. Access your own streaming accounts through our TV/wifi. Great restaurants are nearby, or make use of our original 1950s efficiency kitchen and dine al fresco. You’re surrounded by wineries, farm markets and even a candy store. Central location to do it all!

Lovely cottage enjoy amazing sunsets from the back porch with first floor eat in kitchen- full refrigerator, microwave, stove, coffee bar and grill. The living room features a comfy sofa and chair for reading with queen sofa bed and tv, 1st floor full bath walk in shower. 2nd floor has a lofted ceiling with a queen bed, vanity, tv, desk and chair. Relaxing, quiet, not visible from the road but close to: ~ Round Top Mountain Resort ~Paulus Mt Airy Orchards ~Yellow Breeches Creek ~Messiah University. (all within 3 miles) We are central to Gettysburg and Hershey (30 miles), Harrisburg,Carlisle, Boiling Springs, Allen Berry Play house, the Appalachian Trail, and LeTort Spring Run! (all within15 miles)

Our cozy 3 bedroom, 2 full bath Campmeeting cottage, It’s a Charmed Life, is perfectly located in the center of all that Mount Gretna has to offer. The lake, Lebanon Valley Rail Trail, Clarence Schock Park, miniature golf, roller rink, and two playgrounds are within walking distance. Walk to the Playhouse, Tabernacle, Pizzeria, Hideaway Bar and Grill, Porch and Pantry restaurant, and The Jigger Ice Cream shop attractions. Hershey is a 20 minute drive and Lancaster a 30 minute drive.

Enjoy the coziness of the BirdHouse. Our kitchen has the necessities to cook. We provide olive oil, spices, salt and pepper, farm fresh eggs, coffee filters, and trash bags. For the bathroom we provide starter shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, and of course the towels. Linens provided also. Enjoy the courtyard area with its gas fireplace and seating area. Cook on the gas grill and enjoy a meal at the bistro table. Please come and relax!
