This cabin is conveniently located in the Gila Forest, 3 miles North of Reserve on Hwy 12 between New Mexico Game Management Units 16D and 15. We are ½ a mile NE of Eagle Point Lookout turnoff off Hwy 12 (GMU 16D) and 2.1 miles South of Torette Lake RD turnoff on Hwy 12 (GMU 15). In addition, Reserve Sportman’s Club shooting range is 1.7 miles (road travel) from the cabin. If needed, there is plenty of space on the property to shoot your bow (bring your own targets). Shekinah Hermitage: Peace at the Forest’s Edge

Shekinah Hermitage is at 8000ft. overlooking the Cibola N. F. This unique cabin looks into a canyon to the north, and eastward over the San Agustin Plains. Surrounded by juniper and pinion trees, it is very remote. Windows all around give the feel of being outdoors but the solid structure is immovable in high winds. Inside is all you need including limited solar-battery 120V electricity. There is an attached bathroom with a sawdust composting toilet. Outside a high deck offers stunning views.

The bedroom features a dual-adjustable King-Size mattress, fitted with Giza Dreams sheets, and a comfortable sleeper sofa in the common area. "City" water, dishwasher, washer & dryer, 700 Sq. Poverty Creek historic log cabin

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Nine miles into the Gila Forest sits this old 1890 miners cabin. Restored in 2022 with new electric, new bathroom, new hot water heater and plumbing, new kitchen. Sleep 2 in two twin beds, room for more outside in your own tents or RV's. The cabin is owned by a New Mexico Non-profit, The Poverty Creek Pines Conservancy, a 501c3.
