Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Cowichan Bay B.C., above Paradise Marina

A private cabin we named Eagle Place with partial views of the bay and mountain. Queen size bedroom downstairs with a 40-inch TV. Hidea bed on main level**only suitable for 1 person sleeping on** has a 50 inch TV & Small/Full kitchen & bathroom with shower on the main flr. 5 minutes from the village of Cowichan Bay, with local shops and plenty of choices for dining. We are 15 minutes from the town of Duncan and 35 minutes from Victoria and about 45 minutes from the Nanaimo Duke point ferry.

Forest Hideout

Our tiny cabin is located on a 14 acres property in the middle of the woods. You will enjoy complete privacy and use of your own area on the land, including a pond. Located 2 min, from the Transcanada Trail, 20 min. walk to the Kinsol Trestle, a World Heritage Site with beautiful swimming holes right underneath the bridge. 20 min. to next Grocery store and 22-25 min to Duncan. Approx. 50 min- 1 hr to Victoria. Pottery lessons are available by request if you have always wanted to try it out.

Cowichan Bay View Getaway

Take a break to unwind in beautiful Cowichan Bay on Vancouver Island - about a 40 minute drive from Victoria BC. Our renovated (in June 2023) suite is at the end of a no-through road and is only a 5-10 minute walk into the village to a fabulous, organic craft bakery, artisan shops, restaurants, a museum, a pub, a small grocery/liquor store and a popular ice cream/candy store. (Seasonal) kayak/paddle-board rentals & whale watching excursions for hire. Cowichan District Hospital 15 min drive.

Cowichan Bay, Private entry suite, water view

Step Inn Stones is a delightful, private entry suite located in the quaint Historical Village of Cowichan Bay, BC. Located on a no-through road above the village with a beautiful ocean view for a tranquil getaway, we are a five-minute walk to fine dining, shops, pubs, marinas and more. Our newly renovated suite has a small kitchenette, bar counter with a view, new comfy queen sized bed, seating for relaxing, reading and TV watching and a bathroom with heated floors and a rain head shower.

The nearby communities and lush Cowichan Valley invites you to explore the area by hiking or biking the nearby mountain trails and single track runs, whale watching, fishing or sightseeing by boat, or paddling by kayak or paddle board among the twin river fed bird estuary in the back yard. The area hosts a plethora of bird life from hummingbirds, kingfishers, woodpeckers, herons, eagles and trumpeter swans to name a few!

Welcome to the Kinsol Cabin! This modern & eco-built cabin is a retreat by the lake. Nestled in the trees, you'll find nothing but peace and tranquility, located a few minutes walk from the famous Kinsol Trestle & the Trans Canada Trail; a haven for hikers, mountain bikers & outdoor enthusiasts of every kind. We are a 5 minute drive from West Shawnigan Lake Park (lake access) and an 8 minute drive from Masons Beach / Shawnigan village, and a 50 minute drive from Victoria.

Located on a quiet winding road just minutes from downtown Duncan and situated on a 8.5 acre vineyard and winery that feels like you may be in the middle of nowhere. A fully furnished 950 sq/ft suite with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and very comfortable to accommodate a group of 4 with the added bonus of a pull out to sleep up to 6. Welcome to our listing and the Cowichan Valley. We overlook Quamichan Lake, and are located midway between salt water at Maple Bay and the city of Duncan (each are a six minute drive away). We are also midway between Nanaimo and Victoria (1 hour drives). For bikers and hikers the Mt. Tzoulhalem (Kaspa Road) trailhead is 600m away (we provide bike lockup). Our rate is for 2 guests. Additional guests are $50 per night. Sorry, we're not child-proofed.

Now booking 15% discount on your long term stay, 28 night minimum. Warren’s Snugg is just as it sounds a very quiet and relaxing place by the sea. With beautiful views and access to the water to kayak or go for a boat ride. Only 5 minutes from the BC ferry and 10 minutes from the airport. The Town of Sidney is again only a 10 minute drive to a plethora of restaurants and a beautiful stroll along the waterfront.

Sitting on three acres with complete privacy. Home was built in the 1940s and perched over Maple Bay with incredible panoramic views. Ocean, mountains, rain forest, wildlife and constant sun throughout the day makes this retreat like no other. Home is very accessible, private, has a cottage feel, natural landscape, ample private parking, close to all amenities and heated pool from June to mid October.
