The Basalt Stay

The Basalt Stay is perched just before the Derwent Valley, with an apricot orchard on one side & wide sky and river views out front. Sunrise breaks behind the bridge & lights up the living areas. Sunset falls downriver while the swans do their thing on loop. If you’re lucky, the moon pulls a showstopper—rising over the water like it owns the place Inside, you’ll find warmth, clean lines, a crackling fire, and just enough space to recalibrate. Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. Plenty of space to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Close to river, town, shops and cafes. It's a 40 minute drive to the centre of Hobart. Derwent Estate winery is nearby. Thé Agrarian Kitchen voted one of the best restaurants is also close. It has a spacious, mostly enclosed balcony to enjoy the river and bridge views. The Esplanade is a stones throw away for exercise, oval and kids play equipment. The river is for swimming and kayaking.

Entire Home - Maydena \ Mt Field \ Tyenna

You'll have my self-contained house in Fitzgerald to yourselves. It is modern and family-friendly. It's 5 minutes from the Tyenna river and a magic spot for fishing and watching Platypus. Less than 5 minutes from the Maydena Mountain Bike Park. Also MT Field and National Park are a 10 minute drive. Stay in and prepare meals or have dinner at the Mountain Bike Park (check their socials for opening times). As well, the visitors center at MT Field has a stylish and comprehensive cafe.
