Our Point of View

Escape to a place with breathtaking glacier and mountain views that is only 20 min from downtown but feels worlds away. This cozy 1 BR 1 Bath apartment attached to the back of our home, includes a queen bed as well as a queen pull out sofa bed. It resides in a quiet neighborhood 5 min from the glacier & is the gateway to outdoor exploring with incredible views right off the deck and many other trails close by. Alaska Northern Sands Suite

Alaska Northern Sands is located on the beach in Auke Bay. This premier rental offers high quality living with spectacular views and great ambiance. While private, it is centrally located with quick access to a wide variety of local activities and sights. We are located in a protected portion of Auke Bay where it rains only about half as much as it rains in downtown Juneau. Your stay in the Penthouse Suite also affords you direct and easy access to the beach as well as our beachfront gazebo.

25 mins to chairlift & 5 mins to downtown, with access to an amazing beach, a Jacuzzi hot tub time machine, Rancho Balsaccò North is central to both downtown Juneau & to pubs, food & historical hikes in Douglas. Walk the beach, watch the eagles, look for jumping fish with a fantastic view of Juneau. Ground level private entrance, comfortable new Queen bed & blackout blinds make it easy to sleep to the sound of the creek. The private road to our small beach front neighborhood adds to the charm.

River House: On Mendenhall River/Glacier(4 min dr)

We love our place on the Mendenhall River! Eagles, bears, deer, porcupine, and otters are common sights in the backyard while the soft rush of the glacier-fed stream provides a soothing background. We are located in the upper Mendenhall Valley, just a 5 minute drive from the Mendenhall Glacier & 3 minute walk to the Brotherhood Bridge trail which takes you into deep old forest almost immediately. The river is ever changing and always beautiful & peaceful. We are available, but don’t intrude.
