Quiet double B and B in Dumfries

Only a 10 minute walk into town. Large room with king size bed, TV, workstation, armchairs and private bathroom on the first floor of my warm and artistic home. Close to pubs, shops and restaurants, railway station and arts cinema. You can use my garden, kitchen and dining areas. cooked breakfast is included. Motherby House

Motherby House is an 18th century grade II traditional farmhouse, the house has lost none of its original charm. Hooks embedded in oak beams show where bacon was once cured and log fires add to the warm homely atmosphere. Families are always welcome. Unwind and relax in our oak beamed living room with a refreshing cup of tea or coffee and a selection of home made cakes. There is off road parking and secure storage for cycles. The hamlet of Motherby, is positioned between Penrith and Keswick.

Saltwater Chronicles: Heavenly Seaside Lodge

Compose your greatest odes to the sea while luxuriating in this ocean-view expansive lodge on a private 2000-acre Estate. Saltwater Chronicles, Dunskey's Estate most ambitious project and crown jewel: 3 bedrooms, 3 ensuite bathrooms with soaking tub and rain shower. Perched atop the Estate's fairy glen, where bluebells cloak the ground like scented eiderdown, and the Scottish cragged coastline soars into the wide open skies, this maximalist lodge may awaken you to your own soulful chronicles. 

Mini Studio Apartment in Iconic Converted Church

This mini studio apartment combines reasonable rates with great facilities and a coastal position. The double bedroom has an ensuite shower room which leads into a third room which is equipped with a lounge/snack area comprising microwave, kettle, a toaster and a fridge. Whilst not suitable for "serious" cooking, these facilities will enable you to make snacks or reheat takeaways. A continental style breakfast is supplied, to be eaten in this room or on the shared guest terrace as you prefer.

The Grainary at Highside Farm

The Grainary, renovated in 2017, is a historic Grade II listed barn that has witnessed centuries of transformation. Once a humble working barn, it evolved into a bustling grain store before being lovingly converted into a cosy king-sized bedroom. Perched between the farmyard and mountains, its position offers break-taking views over Bassenthwaite Lake, and the eastern slopes of Ullock Pike, providing an unforgettable backdrop to your stay. Breakfast can be included as an additional extra.

The Lady Maxwell Room - Buittle Castle

Named after Lady Maxwell, a former resident of Buittle Castle, the room is appointed in the Gothic Revival and Arts and Crafts styles. The room is on the ground floor, with its own private access to the courtyard (with one step) and its own ensuite bathroom with shower. Full Scottish or American breakfast is included. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are also available. Please let us know of any dietary requirements ahead of time. We aim to offer guests a true country house experience.
