The Magical Cabin on Back Creek

Magic is the word most people use when they visit this hidden gem. Built in 1939 as a fishing cabin by a gentleman who incorporated box cars as rafters and beams, dates still visible since removing the attic. By far the best place I've ever lived. I decided to share it with others who love to explore, who love listening to the voice of the creek or who come just to sit on the porch high above the creek with a spouse, friend, family, or alone. Black Water Junction Cabin

Our cabin is built out of old wood and doors found on the farm. Because I am such a cold natured person, I installed heated floors and a heated towel bar in addition to the mini-split and electric fireplace! The cabin is surrounded by pastures that are the home to our cows, horses, goats, pot belly pig, and chickens. The highlight of a stay at BWJ Cabin would be to sit on the front porch in a rocking chair, day bed swing or hot tub looking out over the landscape and do nothing.

Falling Pines Historic Cabin

The original log cabin was built in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). These cabins were built after the Blue Ridge Parkway was laid in 1935, which is just down the street. With love and attention our cabin's renovations were complete in 2017. We kept the original log walls to add a rustic feel to the contemporary, crisp clean decor. The cottage overlooks the babbling waters of Back Creek but is just a 5 minute drive to the grocery store, private yet convenient.

This lovely, cozy cabin in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains offers enchanting views of Cahas Mountain that are always captivating. Great location just 1/2 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway at MP 152. Surrounded by open fields, mountain vistas abound. This home has been lived in and gently loved for many years. There is one bedroom downstairs and two upstairs. An extra cot is available. Fully equipped kitchen! Great for families and a long stay. Guests are invited to join us when feeding the farm animals (alpacas, llamas, Highland cattle, Jacob sheep and angora goats) each morning. Fun!

Nature Lover's Retreat

Unique tiny house set on a beautiful farm/wildlife conservation area. The house overlooks the hay fields and 2 acre stocked pond. Property is a nature lover's delight for kayaking, hiking, bird watching, fishing and all the amenities near by. Floyd is 25 miles away, Roanoke is 35 miles and Rocky Mount is 11 miles. Depending on the season, you can watch Canadian geese, blue herons, egrets, numerous species of ducks and other waterfowl frolic in the pond.
