Tank House Cottage with hot tub on Main St.

The Tank House was built from an original water tank house on one of the town’s oldest properties. Before modern conveniences of electricity and public water mains, residents used this tank house to supply and store their own water for their house and garden. When it was used for its primary purpose, this tank house functioned using a windmill and a hand-dug well. The windmill pumped the well water into the tank at the top of the tank house, so the water could run down to the house and garden.

Built by German settler Gerhard Rorig in 1846, this cabin served as a Sunday House. Sunday Houses were a second home where men stayed on weekends after a night of drinking with their friends. They were located near a church, so they could attend church on Sundays. This cabin was later added on and renovated by Johann Loeffler and his son-in-law J. Charles Weber. The home stayed in the Loeffler-Weber family for 90 years. Then George and Gloria Hill bought and restored it in the 1960s.

Part of a farmhouse that was built in 1902, the Manor combines Fredericksburg’s unique German history with the rustic elegance of the Wine Country. This house was once the principal house on the farm of an early settler. Part of the German immigrant tradition, most inhabitants also had a Sunday House in close proximity to the church, where they resided on the weekends.

You'll love my place because of the peaceful location, the views, beautiful updated interior, and great porch. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families with children that are 15 years of age or older.
