Almost off-grid, it has a comfy bed, central woodburner and spectacular view. It's the perfect stepping stone towards the full off-grid experience, intended for people who are curious about living the off-grid lifestyle but also like to be able to charge their phone, boil a kettle and have a hot shower! Armadale Farm Cottage, Armadale Bay

Owned by Joyce Campbell, a prominent Scottish hill farmer and shepherdess widely recognised for her appearance on the BBC series 'This Farming Life', this gorgeous wee home has been renovated to encapsulate the traditional Scottish feel which we know our guests can't get enough of. Fluffy sheepskin throws, soft furnishings made from wool from the flock, a cosy wood burning stove - all within walking distance of the beach, makes this delightful cottage a perfect home for your Scottish getaway.

Easily accessed from the A9 (on the NC500 route) and just a two-minute walk from a secluded beach and estuary with lots of short walks from the front door and plenty longer ones in the vicinity.
