De Vestingstad ligt op ruim 20 minuten met de trein of auto naar het centrum van Amsterdam. Het busstation is om de hoek en brengt je in een paar minuten naar het treinstation. Naarden is één van de mooiste plekjes in Nederland met z'n prachtige wallen, wateren en pittoreske huizen vlakbij de randmeren. De Zwerver is het oudste woon- en atelierschip van Nederland. De Zwerver is gebouwd in 1900 op scheepswerf De Vlijt in Oude Wetering. Kunstenaar, architect en ontdekkingsreiziger Wijnand Otto Jan Nieuwenkamp ontwierp het als woonboot maar gebruikte het tevens als mobiele atelier- en tentoonstellingsruimte. Het schip is volledig gerestaureerd, van alle gemakken voorzien en wordt tegenwoordig gebruikt als accommodatie om te overnachten én vergaderen.
