It is only a 59 mile drive to Asheville, NC and only 24 miles to Hot Springs, NC. The cabin features amazing mountain views & a hot tub to sit back and relax in on the porch. The cabin sleeps a family of 4. The location is very private and quite charming.

We are situated in the middle so you can go either way without a lot of driving. This is an easy stop-over if you are traveling 81 and just need a sweet place to rest in your journey. Mendin' Fences is a working farm. During the summer months, we host horsemanship clinics. For more: you can find us on the web by the name of our farm. We are a great destination for a quiet getaway, a horse stopover, or even a family reunion if renting the additional bunkhouse. In each direction, you can find many activities to enjoy: Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge; wineries; historical sites (Rogersville & Jonesborough in particular). Two airports are 50 min & 1.25 hrs away.

Go for a hike on 10 mi. of trails thru mature hardwood forest. We have 4 ponds, a creek and numerous streams. This is a working farm so we are always doing farmsy stuff. Built on a cliff overlooking the French Broad River, you can see miles of mountains for more than 180 degrees from inside the cabin and from 3 decks on different levels.
