The River House

Enjoy our modernized 1887 farmhouse located on the Iowa River in the peaceful town of Alden. The house has direct access to the river for kayaking, tubing or canoeing. The float to Iowa Falls is through a scenic greenway including limestone bluffs. The spacious lot has room for relaxation & games, including a front porch, backyard patio, and a fire ring near the river. The house has 4 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a full kitchen, open dining room/living room, and laundry facilities.

Relax and observe wildlife at this tranquil riverfront getaway on 5 in-town acres with amazing views! Enjoy the unique parklike setting along with the convenience of being in the midst of Iowa Falls - the Scenic City. The grounds of this Vacation Home adjoin Foster Park via a private pathway. Enjoy kayaks on property with direct access to the river or take the house bikes for a spin. There is free cross country skiing at Calkin's Nature Center 3.8 miles from property.

Cabin Cove By the River

Take a step back in time when you enter our little log cabin by the river. Built in 1949, this cabin is a replica of the log cabins built by the gold seekers of Alaska. Though modern in most aspects we have retained the native charm of unfinished wood, rough, hand-hewn logs and naked beams. The inspiration for the cabin was found by my great grandfather who spent time in Alaska working on the Alcan highway.

Overlooking the historic swinging bridge, on the Iowa River, this newly-remodeled guest house features 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and a furnished kitchen that's open to the living area. The large living room windows look onto the landscaped private backyard and the river. Tucked into a quiet neighborhood, the house is perfect for a relaxing weekend, or for a get-together of family or friends.

Large, centrally located upstairs duplex. Less than 2 miles from Hansen Family Hospital. Keep your vehicle out of the elements with your own garage space. A short walk to the river bend and downtown. Comfortable two bedrooms, one with a queen and other with two twins. Room darkening shades for our night workers! Enjoy the smart TV in the spacious living room.

1898 House

Your group will enjoy this large 2 story home for families, big groups or couples. There is even enough room to park a camper if needed. The large backyard has a winding path through the trees leading to the Ira Nichols wildflower and bird refuge or you can just meander on the path enjoying the birds singing, scampering squirrels, or occasional rabbits.
