Whether you are traveling solo for work, or for recreation with your family, our lovely two bedroom, 1200 square foot guest house is ideal. One of two houses on the property (we live in the other) designed and built in 1920 as a summer residence for a local family. These 5.5 acres of park-like setting are situated on the serene Stillwater River. Tucked away, in the midst of the suburbs, surrounded by trees, gardens and the sound of birds, this gem of a place is a perfect home away from home.

Restaurants and shopping within walking distance, and Metroparks bike trail at the end of our street. Dogs are welcomed for an additional fee. No cats. Unique quirks about our little home: the ceiling coming down the steps is lower, and the bathroom is a jack-and-jill.

The best place to stay when visiting the National Air Force Museum. It's open year round, entrance is free, and you even can walk there if you want :) You will also be very close to all the Wright Patterson AFB entrances and only 5 minutes to Wright State University, only 10 minutes to the Nutter Center (for watching various shows) and Downtown Dayton - including the Oregon District, University of Dayton, Schuster Center, Miami Valley Hospital, and others. Off road parking and a secluded entry makes the cabin perfect for a romantic or working getaway. Located next to the Osborn Historic District in the heart of Fairborn, the Armstrong Homestead is an easy stroll to the downtown shops and restaurants. Xenia Dr provides direct access to the main highways, making most of Dayton reachable in 30 min or less.

South Park- The Purple Barney Guesthouse

Historic South Park Purple Barney guesthouse. Built in 1920 this shotgun cottage was rehabbed by me, a neighborhood activist, who stripped it down to the studs. What you'll find is a mix of historic, modern, and mid-century modern, with vaulted ceilings, skylights in both the bedroom and the spacious bathroom, and safe, snug, and quiet thanks to the insulation, new windows & doors. New Metal Roof in 2022! Your host is a Certified Service Disabled Vet.
