You’ll love the semi-outdoor shower with screens to keep out any bugs or critters, and the patio kitchenette is a great place to relax and enjoy brunch, a cocktail, or a brunch cocktail! The Cottages At Volcano - Hale Alala

Surrounded by the rainforest of Volcano and situated just outside of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, our cozy cottage offers a welcoming place for some rest and relaxation between adventures. Hale 'Alalā is named after the highly endangered hawaiian crow whose reintroduction efforts have been focused on the forests around Volcano. While there are no longer any Alalā living in the wild, you can see a pair of live Alalā just down the road at the Panaewa Zoo (free admission).

This two bedroom cedar cabin is minutes away from the Volcano National Park Entrance. It is quiet, cozy and nicely self contained for a comfortable and relaxing stay. At an elevation of approximately 4,000 feet nestled in the Volcano Village forest, our cabin welcomes you. Amenities include a newly renovated kitchen, barbecue, wall heaters, fireplace, bath robes, laundry, free wifi, and cable TV. Within minutes drive or 10 minute walk to general store and two cafes.

This is a great base for exploring the waterfalls and beautiful beaches on the East side of the Big Island. At 4,000 foot elevation you will enjoy the cooler weather.
