Beach Pod - Waikawa Beach -North Island

It's rare to find a place that's both historic and one of a kind. This tiny home started out as the Koru Valet Parking Office at the Wellington Airport. It took 3 trucks, 2 hiabs and 3 pilots to transport the building to Waikawa Beach. Originally, it was used as a holiday beach hut, but we decided to make it a holiday home and put in a kitchen space, toilet, and shower. We lived here for 7 months until our house was complete. The Pod has been totally renovated, waiting for guests to enjoy.

The Nest

The Nest is a place you come to instantly switch off, relax and unwind. Thoughtfully decorated to feel warm & inviting, there are many eclectic pieces that the owner has collected whilst travelling and living overseas, which add a touch of wanderlust. It's the little details like high quality bedlinen and fluffy white towels that help set this local spot apart. Enjoy total privacy both indoors & the self-contained outdoor area complete with a fire pit. The local Tui's can provide the tunes.

Putara Base Camp

Putara base camp feature a fully equipped kitchen, an open plan living area and dorm style sleeping area (6 beds are on the mezzanine floor, access is only by a ladder) with a capacity of 10 guest. You also have the option to pitch a tent. A separate ablution block with 5 showers and toilets. Nice big fenced grounds for the kids to play and have their little adventure. The Tararua forest park offers beautiful bush walk and is located 5 minutes down the road and great swimming holes nearby.

Waikawa in the Sun

Waikawa has a sign as you drive in "your place in the sun" and is one of the best kept secrets of the coast. A beautiful quiet beach with an amazing climate. Even when the weather isn't perfect, it's still paradise. This house is a humble abode with lots of soul, loved and lived in. There's fibre WIFI, games, and guitars. Mid century bits and pieces, a firebox to keep you cosy in the winter months, and fab outdoor bath and shower. A caravan can accomodate 2 more guests by request only.
