"Longhorn Casita" - Pet Friendly Space w/ Kitchen

Cozy and private, the Longhorn Casita is a quaint 1950s guest house that's been recently renovated for a fresh, clean feel. Pet friendly, the back door with dog door opens to the small fenced dog yard. The vintage kitchen is fully stocked with all the needed equipment and cooking basics. At bedtime, there is room for 2 adults in the queen bed and if you don't need complete privacy (there is no door to the bedroom) 2 kids can sleep in the living room on the pull out chairs that become cots.

"Rock House" overlooks the scenic Musquiz Canyon and the Davis Mountains. Serene and secluded, the home is surrounded by several acres of pristine land for exploring. It features four comfortable shaded porches from which you can take in the sunrise, unwind at sunset, and gaze at brilliant stars in the heart of the world's largest Dark Sky Preserve. For all its privacy, the Rock House is conveniently located minutes from downtown Fort Davis and less than 30 minutes from Marfa and Alpine.

Blue Bird Bungalow

Blue bird bungalow is centrally located (2 minutes from downtown) & is also tucked against the foothill of the Sleeping Lion Mountain. Look out the bedroom window & see the towering rock face with the occasional mule deer & aoudad grazing on the cliff side. Blue bird is a private room that is completely separate from the main hotel and includes a fully stocked kitchen, private restroom & shower. The bungalow has the best view in the house for our world famous dark skies and star gazing.

Bird watching is popular at Sandia Wetlands and Balmorhea Lake. It’s a perfect place to start or end your visit to the Big Bend area, or as an overnight stop-over when traveling on IH-10.

We sit on Dolores Mountain overlooking the Chihuahuan desert. U must like a little dust, stars and dirt roads to like The Roadhouse .There’s no other place quite like it that looks over the desert and to the mountains beyond. We are in the country and on a dirt road yet only 1 mile from the beautiful downtown Fort Davis, The Fort and restaurants. Please look at the astrophotography pictures taken from our property. It is the bottom cabin as our personal cabin is the top cabin.
