Take a break and relax on beautiful Lake Sutherland just outside Olympic National Park. The cabin is in a convenient location on the lake with fantastic hiking nearby. It’s a quick 20 minute drive to Port Angeles and only an hour drive to the coast. You can easily get to many popular spots within the National Park or take a day trip to Hoh. This charming cabin is perfect for a family trip, working remote, or be enjoyed for a friends trip. It is the perfect spot to enjoy the beauty of the PNW.

Experience healing and peace with the sound of gentle waves on Discovery Bay. Our cabin was built in 1939 by our grandfather who was an early businessman in Port Townsend. He wisely recognized for decades to come this would be a prized place of rest, enjoyed by 5 generations. Our two kayaks for beginners and new paddle board are available for rent. From the shared lower deck, sit and enjoy your coffee or wine and look right down the Elwha Valley to the majestic Olympic Mountains with a view of the Elwha River and Mt. Carrie glacier. The Hiker's Cabin serves as an ideal base for daily excursions to explore Olympic National Park and local beaches. Walk directly from the Hiker’s Cabin onto trails leading into the park!
