The North Star Dome

Camp on a sustainable agriculture farm! The Dome is nestled on our farm's off-grid hilltop, with tremendous mountain views. This is camping, elevated with style & comfort. We provide the climate controlled dome, comfy bed (bring your own sheets), griddle, and basic supplies. Rustic outdoor shower is OPEN till October 1st. Laundry room & wifi bar open. Hear the sounds of the creek right behind the cabin and cross the bridge to see the horses! This Land was home to the Cherokees and offers not only a place to stay but an experience. One time PET FEE $100.00 for ONE small dog under 30lb, additional small dogs $35/each

The Cottage at Historic Sutherland Manor est. 1807

Helene update: the farm is undamaged and roads leading to it are passable. This farm cottage is located on a historic 40 acre farmstead behind a beautiful farmhouse (which is under renovation) with views of The Peak, Ashe County’s highest mountain. We are bordering Elk Knob State Park and a 10 minute drive to the park entrance. The farm is located in the historic Sutherland valley district and was built in 1807 by Thomas Sutherland.

This lovely weekender or longer-term getaway retreat is +- 750 square feet of cozy comfortable space. It is a very nicely appointed rustic cabin of modern studio design. It has everything you need for that affordable vacation away from it all and is nestled on a prominent site among 15 surrounding acres of lush forest. Build a fire in the wood burning fireplace or outside in the firepit. Grill outside, sit and listen to the birds.

3 bedroom mountain retreat!

Our little peaceful home is located in the Kettlefoot black bear reserve. Bears can sometimes be seen crossing the road or strolling thru the fields Damascus and Mountain City are only minutes away! Our place offers a big yard to enjoy along with a fire pit with firewood furnished. Cornhole and board games are also available. A nice sitting area on the covered back porch to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
