Peradeniya Botanical Gardens-5km Another must visit- Largest botanical gardens in Sri and rated one of the best in Asia Embekke- 15km An ancient temple visited by many for its superb wooden architectural structure and carvings. Lanka Thilaka- 15km An ancient temple with murals and impressive Buddhist architecture. Pinnawala- 40km Wild elephant orphanage.Largest herd of elephants in captivity Sigiria- Day trip An ancient rock fortress and palace ruin surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and other structures.
