You also have full access to the backyard and dock to enjoy water activities and the fresh air.

Private beach cabin, Vashon Island

Some say the cabin has a nautical feel with galley kitchen, wood paneling and brass light fixtures. In the bathroom, copper pipes become towel racks. Outside there are deck chairs and more by the water along with a meditation maze made from beach stones. The lighthouse is a short beach walk away. The reading and writing room, across the path, is a refuge for solitary study or work. Enjoy the water, marine life and birds here where each season brings new joy and sometimes, excitement.

Our cottage sits above Lake Washington with a beautiful water view. A peaceful respite, yet so close to the city. You can barbeque on the deck and watch the boats go by as ospreys fish in the little marina just below. Walk or ride bikes along Lake Wa. Blvd. to Seward Park offering its old-growth forest and pretty lakeside loop just one mile away. A short walk takes you to coffee shops and vibrant Columbia City is just 1.4 miles away with a convenient light rail station in the center of town.

Matthews Beach Daylight Basement near UW/Childrens

Our Wedgwood/Matthews Beach home is a 5 min walk to the Burke Gilman Trail and Matthews Beach - the largest swimming area on Lake Washington, with playground & BBQs. This 1 bd 800 sq ft daylight basement includes kitchenette & full bath. Ceiling height 7'. Street parking is free. We live upstairs, happy to help with anything you may need. Metro bus #75 is a short ride to Seattle Children's Hospital, UW campus, U-Village, Husky Stadium, Northgate Light Rail Station, & UW Medical Center.
